Yoga for Detox, Drug addiction and Recovery
Yoga combines breathwork and movement to achive physical, mental, and emotional health. It helps calm the mind as well as strengthen the muscles. In recovery, yoga allows the shift of focus from the mind, past and future, to the body and breath. Clients connect to themselves and learn to be patient with their thoughts and emotions. Teaching at American Detox Center in Woodland Hills allowed me to work with clients in recovery and to be of service for this challenging journey. Slow movement of yoga allows me to work with different levels of physical and mental abilities. Yoga is a therapy that can help facilitate recovery in detox centers and sober livings next to other programs such as 12 steps.
